Warming up, stretching, mobility before and after a workout

As athletes, we need to be more proactive on warming up and stretching before and after workouts. Lets take a deeper look into why.

Warming up is an important, yet often neglected aspect of an exercise routine. Performing warmup exercises before stretching warms your body temperature, which increases blood flow to your muscles and makes them more flexible. This, in turn, will assist your muscles when doing various workouts that are displayed.

At our box, we do warm up, but because we only have 1 hour, the warm up may not feel like it is enough for you.

So when it is 10-15 minutes before the top of the hour, and you’re waiting for the next class to begin, remember to warm up/stretch the muscles that feel sore or tender. Take advantage of the equipment (foam rollers, lacrosse balls, barbells), online platforms (ROMWOD/Youtube), and coaches and utilize them to its fullest extent.
